MDF Boards

Medium-density fiberboard or MDF is a manufactured wood-based product created by deconstructing hard and soft wood residuals, turning them into wood fibers. The fibers are bound with wax and are pressed together with intense pressure and heat. This forms a solid board that is denser than plywood and perfect to be bonded onto. MDF is not suitable for wet areas.

MDF Processing

MDF machines cleanly in every direction, so we can rout decorative profiles, curved edges and recessed panel details without the tear-out you'd risk on a layered board. We cut panels to size, edge band them, and can also prime or spray-paint MDF ready for a lacquered finish — a common request for kitchen doors, panelling and painted furniture. Standard and moisture-resistant grades are both available, and we'll advise on the right one for your application before we cut.
MDF Products
MDF is the board of choice where a smooth, paintable surface matters more than moisture resistance — think fitted wardrobes, alcove units, skirting and architrave, shop fittings and painted kitchen doors. Because it has no visible grain or knots, cut edges and profiled details finish smoothly under paint, primer or veneer, giving a seamless result that's harder to achieve on chipboard-based boards.
